Carissa is a five-time WSL Women's Tour Champion (2011, 2013, 2015, 2019, 2021) and in 2020 she became the first Olympic gold medalist in surfing. In 2013 Glamour Magazine included her in their Women of the Year list and in 2014 she was inducted to the Surfers' Hall of Fame.
