Product Line Manager – Vertra Premium Suncare

 

POSITION OVERVIEW
  • Lead new formula development and reformulations for calendarized programs, ensuring development meets Vertra’s mission and commitments to performance and safety
  • Create new product concepts, under the guidance of the Business Unit Manager, that generate new opportunities for brand growth
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects with a high level of detail in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ensure all programs have development briefs and product training guides
  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure products are brought to market on-time and on-budget
  • Manage projects with strategic partners and contract manufacturers
  • As needed, manage and report all clinical, sensory and consumer testing for products in development
  • Work with team to ensure compliance with all regulations
  • Facilitate cross-departmental coordination to ensure crucial aspects of product development are communicated with Marketing, Operations, Sales, Legal and Global Product Safety
  • Attend industry events, trade shows and supplier meetings to stay abreast of current trends and technologies
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Eight or more years product management experience in suncare or cosmetic industries
  • Thorough knowledge of the suncare markets
  • Must be experienced in international travel and be self-sufficient in working with both domestic and overseas vendors
  • Possess a strong work ethic and be able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be detailed oriented and highly organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Domestic and international travel as required
  • Valid US work permit
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Translate business needs, customer needs and technological capabilities into user stories and product specifications that are the basis for development and launch
  • Build business cases and analytical insights for new product initiatives
  • Build sales tools for Sales force to build and manage accelerated sales growth and goals
  • Monitor the competitive landscape, identify and undertake relevant market and consumer research
  • Communicate technology product status, key issues and launch plans to key constituents across the organization
  • Work closely with business groups (Marketing, Merchandising, Sales) and other internal teams to deliver products on time, within budget and to functional/design specifications
  • Track technology products performance including identification of key performance indicators
  • Proactively identify and resolve product issues that impair the company’s ability to meet its strategic, financial and technical goals, Prioritize product backlog accordingly

Our Product Line Manager will be responsible for the conceptualization, initiation, development, evaluation and follow-through for Sun Care and body care. You will also keep abreast of the latest trends to create disruptive innovation opportunities across the brand. You will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the parameters of the product development time-line, budget and schedule are followed. You will manage, develop and inspire the product development expertise of direct and in-direct reports.
