The Dakine Pickup Pad DLX Curve™ is made fit to the curved shape and back-up camera location of late-model, full-size Dodge and Ford tailgates. It has tie-downs for up to seven bikes and a built-in security grommet so you can lock it to your truck. We've stiffened the ends of the webbing straps for easy installation under the tailgate and added cam-action buckles for quick removal.

FIT on RAM 2500 3/4 ton pick up Pickup Pad DLX Curve Size Large

I just installed the Curve on my 2020 Ram 2500 pick up tail gate. This cover fits like a charm. I need to add a cushion on the inside at location here the clip for the water bottle could tear the cushion. I will add an old blanket, which should avoid a potential tear. This is a for my Trex Superfly mountain bike. I have a picture showing the installed cover with mountain bike attached. Very nice !

Great fit & nice quality

This pad fits my husband’s newer Dodge pick-up perfectly, other ones we have tried did not match the curve or accommodate the thickness of the tailgate. We like the flap that folds away to access the tailgate handle. When we load our bikes they practically stay in place without needing to be secured. The Velcro straps are too short for one of our bikes that has a thick crossbar. I’m going to find longer ones and just slip them through the buckles. I ordered my hubby the blue camo [can’t recall what it’s called) and was worried this colour might be tacky but it’s a subdued camouflage that doesn’t make us look classless.

Great after 5 years

Fits my 2017 F-150 perfectly! Five years later it's still in great shape (but I only install it for road trips or carrying 3 or more bikes). The straps are too short for some bikes that leave 2-4" between the pad and the downtube, and also are too short for fatter eMTB downtubes. Linking two straps together works but it would be nice if long straps were available. The Dakine pads don't have blocks or channels to keep the bikes from sliding to the left or right- it's important to use the straps and make sure they're tight. Still rates 5* for the materials and it's about the only pad made for the curved tailgates on newer trucks.

Which item will best fit the tailgate of the Dodge 2004 Ram 1500

Are you able to lock the bikes onto this pad while traveling, or can anyone come and unstrap your bike?

The attachment point from the bike to the pad is velcro. Now, the pad has anti-theft feature that can be secured to the pickup.

My truck currently has a tonneau cover on it. The cover closes down on the top of the tailgate when the tonneau cover is closed. I am wondering if the tonneau cover will still close when the tailgate cover is installed but not in use (has no bikes on it). Ideally I would like to leave the tailgate cover installed most of the summer but still close the tonneau cover when needed.
